We'd go mad for these, if they were rare. But as it is, usually overlooked. What a shame. Beyond their looks theres much to like about these little birds. Firstly, the fun little growling noise they make. Secondly, how unrelentically agressive they are towards humans they think will do them harm. They terrorise bird ringers and other hands on ornithologists, frequently drawing blood with their tiny needle like beaks. With their colourful character, endearing growls, and an 'attack is the best form of defence' attitude, these are truly the Jack Rusells of the sky.
